for temp, you can remap x/y on the link app
when its fixed, map it back to default
It could have been the clean install, or possibly even the cache storage. if you are already on the latest app, you can try wiping the cache in your app and see if that helps. Otherwise you may need to just reinstall it.
Using Steamlink and Xbox 360 controller
EDIT - looks like I was on the beta firmware for some reason, switched to public and it’s ok. So mabye an issue in the latest beta firmware?
Also, I tried plugging in one of my (many) old Steam Controllers and it doesn't seem to be working at all. Not sure if this is related.
then its a problem with steam desktop client

The remote Linux box recognized the controller just fine. It works as expected in the start menu. But once actually connected to Steam running on Windows, X and B are swapped.
Tried enabling and disabling Steam input. Attempted to download different community controller settings. No luck.
EDIT: as OP mentioned, I updated my Steam Link client and it works again. I used flatpak to install it, so ran "flatpak update" and problem solved. X and B work as expected again.
