Jump Ship

Jump Ship

How replayable is the Demo right now?
Just asking because me and a friend would love to try it out before our other friends can, but don't want to ruin the experience if it's really linear or only has like an hour of content- Just seems hard to get an answer, some people have two hours, some people have 20

You play the tutorial, then do 2 story missions, which lets you fix your ship and customize it. That might take 2 hours to get through that "new" content. You will then get a "Thanks for playing!" screen, but after that you can still replay any mission from the galaxy map as many times as you want. Collect more credits to upgrade the few ship components you have, and unlock suits.
So there is DEFINITELY stuff to do past 2 hours

In prep for possibly showing this off for my next stream, we "tested" it for 8 hours today and only stopped because people have to do real world things. There may be limited story content currently, but there's plenty of things to discover that don't happen on each mission, and the gameplay is just fun on its own.

Highly replayable. Like the dev said, there's a couple story missions that guide you through basics, then you can just play whatever you want. I still haven't tried all the weapons, and don't think we've seen all the locations yet after 3ish hours.

Also you can just swap roles around. You don't wanna pilot this time? Make your buddy do it. You wanna go outside? Go for it.

It has plenty of content but it isn't replayable if you actually care about keeping the stuff you gain. Anything and everything you get in the demo won't carry over to the full game. Play it to get an idea of if you like it or not, then log and uninstall. If you really want to keep playing, you can run a few missions as there is at least decent content to do, just keep in mind nothing saves.

Tl;dr version: If you care about progression/saves, play one or two missions and then wait for the full game. If you don't care, play away.

20 hours in, demo still not 100% finished due to rogue-like upgrade system.
I guess it will take something like 10 more hours of (fun) farming to get everything.

Is there going to be any sort of wipe once the demo is over? Or will our progression be saved when the game fully launches?

you are too polite, my response would be cynical and spiteful towards that question.
