Minding my own business trying to do a questchain and here come greifers
And yes they were griefing, it wasn't pvp it was them sinking me to be bullies and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

How do I know this? They sunk me and left my loot i should know, i hung around for 5 mins to try and sneak on their boat when they came to loot and they never did.

So in summation: I was griefed by bullies whose sole purpose for sinking me was to ruin my gaming experience and no other reason.

Is this the norm because if it is i'm done with this game, PERIOD. I have no interest in playing a game where sinking a player's ship for the sake of the lulz and ruining other players gaming experience is the norm.

Yes, people usually do whatever they want in the game. As long as you smart or strong or both you're free to play the game as you wish.

You can always play in safer seas where you're alone in the server.

Once you unlocked everything you wanted in the game there is no reason to sell the loot you steal so it's faster to just let it sink and start another adventure.

well I haven't.

Funny thing though, there was another group who attacked me but stopped and actully saved my ship when they realized i was doing a questchain however they did leave me to contend with a shark while they took my ammo crate there words being: "I saved your ship because I realized you were doing this questchain so we're just gonna take your ammo crate here and leave, your own your own against the shark though, good luck!"

I BARELY survive the shark encounter nailing up holes and frantically flinging out water since everyone who joined my crew literally abandoned ship when they say the state it was in. Repaired my masts, and go sailing again only to be blasted by another ship who this time were the greifers i meantioned in my OP.

Don't excuse greifers, if you do, your part of the problem.

If you struggling against sharks you might want to stay in safer seas until you learn the basics.

Also by quest chain i assume you doing a tall tale? there is no reason for anyone to do them in the real server when they made safer seas to do tall tales without getting sunk while you stuck doing something in a cave.

Also the reaper season just started a few days ago, this season is literaly adding those reaper missions and that's the pvp faction, so if you see a ship in the real server they might be a bit paranoid with all those reapers roaming around.

I was a single player in a ship designed for 2-4 players, kinda abit to manage...i struggled aginst the shark so much cuz my ship was already damaged, masts were down, and everytime i managed to patch the holes and get rid of the water, the dumb ass shark came back to put another 5 holes in and more water to fling out! I was dead in the water with no way to escape, i must have drifted away from the shark eventually because it stopped attacking mer thank god.

Actully wait, it wasn't just a shark, it was a sea monster, like HUGE shark so big that when it hit the boat, i was sent flying off it.

They might be hunting megs and you were just in the wrong place and they didn't cared about your loot, just for you to stay away from the meg loot.

For starters that's a piss poor excuse to sink someone and secondly, what's a meg?
Keyrala 5 Jun @ 3:38pm
First of all this game is an open world pvp game with no rules, if you need to ask someone what's their excuse for attacking you then you purchased the wrong type of game.

Second hunting megalodons aka megs is important, as apparently even the weakest one still has chances to drop the rare teeths required to get the fishing curse or whatever is called, it's a cosmeetic that makes your character's skin look like they some sort of fish person mermaid or whatever.

There is also a voyage that helps you find megs faster, so yes if they doing that voyage to hunt megs and you're in the area is as valid as if they bored and want to attack people on sight.

You played the tutorial right? You remember when the Pirate Lord told you "it's about the glory not the gold". They wanted a fight and nothing else and that's all they took. That's not griefing that's their prerogative.

griefing or playing the game?

No one is obligated to collect loot they probably figured you'd try boarding them, which you literally admitted you were going to do that

or they figured your loot wasn't worth collecting, which I also strongly believe.

IF YOU'D BOTHER TO HAVE READ: they didn't even take my loot, they sunk me and left and no i had a rare chest on board.

People like you piss me the ♥♥♥♥ off, you always defend and justify the lowest and petty of every playerbase no matter the game and every game has someone like you, someone who doesn't care, loves to make people lives miserable in games, and will defned them to his dying breath.

It's not griefing if it's part of the game

they'd ban the ENTIRE playerbase if this were "griefing"
what you described is not griefing. griefing on SoT is spawn camping with no intent on sinking them, cheating and/or slurs
no one has to take your loot, even if its a 'rare' chest
also if theyre not taking the loot, why not just sail back

safer seas exists for a reason, and greifing is a reportable offense
